There are basically two ways to compensate an Associate who you pay on commission:

1. Based on Collections.

2. Based on Billings.

Collections refers to actual amounts paid by the patient – either by prepay or actual money transaction. Billings refers to services rendered and billed by the doctor whether they are paid for or not.

We recommend you pay based on Collections. This encourages your Associate to be involved in making sure that patients pay for services rendered which is better for the patient as it keeps them in fair exchange, as well as being better for the practice so it can keep it’s doors open!

However, whichever you choose is up to you. Spinalogic has reports for both:

For Collections, click the Reports button, select Financial..Collections by Doctor. Set the date range and select the doctor. Note that if you are logged in as a doctor then you will only be able to view your own collections. Log in as Admin or Practice Manager to see all doctors figures.

For Billed, select Billed by Doctor instead.

The results on the two reports will of course differ if they include any unpaid billed items or payments for previously billed items.
