Departure stops are a useful feature for stopping a patient before they leave. You may have them turned on for an appointment type without your knowledge which may be confusing, but once fully understood there are many reasons to keep them.

There are a few reasons that patients could be getting stopped.

  1. The patient has a departure message
  2. The appointment type includes a stop on departure
  3. They owe money. Possible reasons for this include
    • HICAPS stops the patient by default you can change that in the patient preferences
    • Retail with no credit
    • Possible double billed item
    • Schedule Payment due
