Spinalogic has an in-built quick viewer for pdf documents so you can see them in a flash and don’t need any extra software installed.

However, it does not fully support the latest versions of PDF so if you have a document created by Adobe CS4 or CS5, it may not render properly. Since this newer format is not supported by a lot of patient pc’s either, we recommend you export your PDF templates from Adobe in an older format. The newer formats support features that you are unlikely to be using anyway.

In fact, we recommend you use Word as your document template format anyway because then you can use the power of mail merge and even merge images.

If you do have such a new pdf document in your document templates, you can always hold down the ‘shift’ key when viewing the document after you have attached it to a patient file. This will make Spinalogic use the program you have installed on your local machine for pdf to view instead of the inbuilt quick viewer. You will of course need Adobe Acrobat Reader or equivalent installed for this to work.
